Easing Fish Passage

Enabling Atlantic salmon, brown trout, eels and lamprey to move freely throughout the Ericht catchment is critical to their rehabilitation. Architecture in the watercourse at Blairgowrie, built during the Victorian era for the textile industry, is in serious disrepair and no longer fit for purpose, trapping smolts and preventing the adult wild fish from finding their own way back to the spawning grounds in the north of the catchment. We will work with local wild fish organisations to help resolve these problems.
