During our design stage, which ran from July 2023 to July 2024, we conducted an ecological baseline assessment of the catchment which you can view on this StoryMap.
We also started to map the landowners in the catchment and introduce ourselves and the aims and objectives of the project.
Using the ecological baseline assessment, we were then able begin conversations with interested landowners about what kinds of nature restoration projects they might be interested in and map that across to what might be possible given the baseline assessment. For woodland creation interest, we then worked with the Woodland Trust to undertake preliminary walkovers.
In the next stage, we will develop and deepen our conversations with interested landowners to identify tangible, deliverable restoration projects, from which we will initiate a project pipeline.
