Peatlands are the largest terrestrial carbon store, but damaged peatland is a large contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. Restoring peatland results in significant carbon avoidance and there is increasing evidence that peatland restoration can contribute to Natural Flood Management (NFM). Furthermore, well- maintained peat habitats are home to a number of rare and threatened species. We will work with landowners, investors and relevant public agencies on restoration opportunities.
